Three days after her dismissal by COMICA (Organizing Committee of Miss Cameroon), Josiane Golonga, Miss Cameroon 2025, has publicly reacted. Instead of contesting the decision, she chose to congratulate Audrey Moutongo Mblack, her first runner-up, who now assumes the role of Miss Cameroon, and to promise to shed light on the reasons for her dismissal.

In a statement dated February 27, Josiane Golonga expresses her sadness at the situation, while calling for calm and dignity. "I am deeply touched by the current situation... However, I invite you with humility and sincerity to remain calm and not enter into controversy. Let's keep our cool. Let's preserve our dignity. Let's remain united in respect and peace," she writes. She assures that she is working with "responsibility, patience and determination" to ensure that the whole truth is known, while reassuring about her state of health and morale.

Josiane Golonga also extended her congratulations to Audrey Moutongo on her appointment. "I would like to extend my congratulations to MOUTONGO MBLACK AUDREY for her appointment and offer her my sincere wishes for success in the exercise of her new functions, in the service of Cameroon," she declared. Audrey Moutongo Black, from Douala, had been Josiane Golonga's first runner-up since the Miss Cameroon election on July 12, 2025.

Josiane Golonga's dismissal has sparked a heated controversy in Cameroon, with allegations involving businessmen and prominent figures. The exact reasons for her dismissal remain unclear, with COMICA citing "serious and repeated breaches of contractual obligations," including unjustified absences from official events and disrespectful remarks towards the institution. Josiane Golonga, for her part, disputes these accusations and demands payment of salary arrears.

The case has taken a legal turn, with Josiane Golonga being arrested on February 26 while on her way to COMICA headquarters to collect her belongings. According to some sources, she was accused of stealing a car key, which she denies. This case highlights the recurring tensions between Miss Cameroon and COMICA, often criticized for its lack of transparency and contract management. Josiane Golonga's promise to reveal the truth could shed new light on this case and ease tensions.
