The young Cameroonian midfielder, Collins Fi Akamba, was one of the standout players this weekend in Cyprus. Starting in the Cypriot championship playoff match between his club, Aris Limassol, and Omonia Nicosia, he played the entire match. At only 19 years old, Akamba has earned the trust of the technical staff led by Liásos Louká. His background with Les Brasseries du Cameroun has visibly prepared him well, as he had the opportunity to play a full 90 minutes, a first for him since arriving at Aris Limassol.
Omonia Nicosia took the lead in the first half with goals from Ewandro Costra (33rd minute) and Willy Semedo from a penalty (45+1st minute). However, Aris Limassol came back strong after the break. Effaghe Rody reduced the score in the 52nd minute, followed by Grigoris Kastanos's equalizer in the 60th minute.
Despite a few passing errors, Collins Fi Akamba gave an overall solid performance in midfield, thus meeting his coach's expectations. This match was his third appearance of the season.
