It's official: Josiane Golonga Harangada is no longer Miss Cameroon. The Miss Cameroon Organizing Committee (COMICA) announced on February 25 the dismissal of the young woman, elected in July 2025. This drastic decision follows weeks of tensions and shortcomings attributed to the Miss.
COMICA justifies its decision with four main reasons: unjustified absences from important official events, disrespectful words and attitudes towards the institution and its members, unilateral cessation of activities related to her mandate, and the use of a personal manager in violation of contractual clauses. According to the official press release, these breaches occurred despite multiple requests for explanations, warnings and formal notices addressed to Josiane Golonga. The Miss's silence in the face of these warnings was interpreted as a "clear refusal to respect her commitments".
The dismissal takes effect immediately, depriving Josiane Golonga of all rights and benefits related to her title. COMICA has indicated that the first runner-up will ensure the continuity of the function and will strive to preserve the image of the institution.
This affair comes after a period of turbulence for Josiane Golonga, marked by accusations of breach of her contractual obligations. Sources had mentioned a delay to an appointment at the Turkish Embassy, a refusal to participate in an event organized by Canal 2 International, and the desire to hire a personal manager. COMICA had already threatened to dismiss the Miss if she did not provide solid justifications.
COMICA reaffirms its commitment to defending the integrity and credibility of the Miss Cameroon competition, considered a symbol of Cameroonian beauty and culture.
