Colombe du Dja et Lobo has announced its intention to appeal the sanctions imposed by FECAFOOT following incidents at the Champions Trophy. The South Cameroon club believes the sanctions are too severe and plans to explore all possible avenues of appeal to challenge them.

FECAFOOT heavily sanctioned Colombe du Dja et Lobo after the Champions Trophy final against Panthère sportive du Ndé. The federal body declared Colombe the loser by default, thus granting victory to Panthère. In addition, the club is excluded from the 2026 Cameroon Cup and must pay a fine of 30 million CFA francs.

The leaders of Colombe du Dja et Lobo consider these sanctions to be particularly harsh and plan to examine all available legal options to challenge them and mitigate the consequences.

According to the club, notification of the sanctions was made via social media, which is unusual for a decision of this magnitude. Colombe du Dja et Lobo is questioning the regularity of the notification procedure.

Colombe du Dja et Lobo had already denounced unpaid debts from FECAFOOT, amounting to 200 million CFA francs, highlighting financial difficulties within Cameroonian football. These unpaid debts relate to unpaid performance bonuses and subsidies.

The case could see new developments in the coming days, as the club prepares its legal response. The club intends to defend itself against what it considers an injustice.
