Christian Kofane, the Cameroonian striker currently playing for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga, recently shared his vision of the game. As a guest on the Talents d'Afrique program on Canal+ Sport 1, he described himself as a striker obsessed with scoring, but above all dedicated to the team.

Kofane emphasizes his daily commitment and constant desire to improve. For him, progress comes through hard work and constant investment. He says he is focused on continuously improving his game, aware of his shortcomings and determined to correct them to reach the highest level.

"As a striker, you have to be obsessed with scoring and playing well," says Kofane. However, he qualifies his statement by explaining that he is not limited to simply finishing. He sees himself as a player involved in all offensive phases, actively participating in pressing, providing assists and contributing to the build-up of play.

This global vision of football translates into a deep attachment to the team. Kofane describes himself as a player who likes to help his team, prioritizing team involvement over individual statistics. "I'm the type of striker who likes to help the team," he sums up.

Born on July 26, 2006 in Douala, Christian Kofane has experienced a meteoric rise in recent years. After starting his career in Cameroon, in November 2024 he joined the training center of the Spanish club Albacete. His remarkable performances quickly opened the doors to the first team, with which he played 20 matches and scored 8 goals in the Segunda División. In July 2025, he signed a four-year contract with Bayer Leverkusen. Kofane has also been selected for the Cameroon national team, with which he competed in the 2025 Africa Cup of Nations. In particular, he scored the winning goal against Mozambique.

Kofane is an example of humility and gratitude, according to Jeff Morea, who sees in him the reward for discipline and gratitude. His journey is a source of inspiration for young Cameroonian academics.

In the Bundesliga this season, Kofane has scored 5 goals and delivered 3 assists in 1,157 minutes of play. His contract with Bayer Leverkusen runs until June 2029.
