Chad is relying on Cameroonian expertise to launch its first strategic petroleum product depots. On February 24, 2026, the Société Camerounaise de Stockage de Produits Pétroliers (SCDP) proudly welcomed a delegation from the Société Tchadienne des Dépôts Pétroliers (STDP) to Douala.

The Chadian delegation, led by its Director General, Haroun Zakaria Ali, was given a tour of the Bessengue depot, considered the SCDP's "mother depot". Gabriel Eteki Ebekolo, Deputy Director General of the SCDP, and his team of experts led the visit, which focused on safety, operational standards, and best practices in petroleum depot management.

The Director General of the SCDP, Véronique Moampea Mbio, reaffirmed her company's commitment to supporting the STDP: "The SCDP will support the STDP. We have know-how that will benefit the STDP," she stated. Véronique Moampea Mbio has been the Director General of the SCDP since December 14, 2018. She holds a degree in Economics with a focus in Business Management and a Master of Business Administration (MBA) from the École Supérieure des Sciences Économiques et Commerciales (ESSEC) at the University of Douala.

The STDP is actively preparing to commission its first petroleum depots in Djaramaye, near N'Djamena, in 2026. This collaboration marks the beginning of a lasting strategic partnership between the two companies.

Created in 1979, the SCDP is the only company in Cameroon that stores and distributes petroleum products throughout the country. It plays a central role in the supply chain, ensuring the efficient distribution of petroleum products. The SCDP is positioning itself as a key player in the development of the petroleum sector in Central Africa.
