Cameroonian entrepreneur Fotso Ngassa has won the World Bank's Agritech Challenge with his innovative platform, Gajo Livestock. This achievement comes with a 40 million CFA franc funding boost from the PATNUC program.
Already recognized by the Cameroonian government as an Ambassador for Growth in Entrepreneurship and Youth Employment Creation, this new accolade reinforces Fotso Ngassa's mission to transform African agriculture through his platform.
Gajo Livestock aims to connect farmers to global markets, provide them with specialized veterinary services, and offer interest-free loans for the purchase of products and services. The platform also integrates an artificial intelligence system called Farm Genius, designed to revolutionize the agricultural sector in Africa.
The PATNUC (Project for the Acceleration of Digital Transformation in Cameroon) project is financed by the World Bank to the tune of $100 million. It aims to develop information and communication technologies to accelerate Cameroon's transformation into an emerging country by 2035. The program aims to strengthen digital inclusion, improve internet access, and promote the use of digital services in the agricultural sector.
As the first winner of the Agritech Innovation Challenge in 2024, Gajo Livestock continues to make strides in modernizing the livestock sector. Fotso Ngassa participated in the launch of the second edition of the challenge on March 3, 2026, testifying to the program's impact on his initiative. According to him, this funding has made it possible to increase the workforce and accelerate the development of the platform. A second, more ambitious version of Gajo Livestock, accessible to all African farmers, is in preparation.
Gajo Livestock is intended to be a digital marketplace facilitating connections between farmers, buyers, and service providers. The platform offers direct access to veterinarians and specialized advice to improve productivity and animal health. It also offers an interest-free credit mechanism for registered farmers, allowing them to purchase feed for their animals.
Through this initiative, Gajo Livestock contributes to the introduction of technology in rural areas, with the aim of structuring the sector and professionalizing agricultural practices.
