The Ministry of Public Service and Administrative Reform (MINFOPRA) has announced that 11,673 registration numbers were generated by the AIGLES (Application Informatique de Gestion Logique des Effectifs et de la Solde) software between May 2025 and March 2026. This automation marks a significant step in the modernization of the Cameroonian public administration, allowing new public servants to obtain their registration numbers without having to travel to Yaoundé.
The deployment of AIGLES is part of an effort to digitize public services, promoted by President Paul Biya through his policy of "proximity public service". The AIGLES system replaces the old SIGIPES and ANTILOPE systems, which were considered ineffective in the face of fraud and administrative burdens. The goal is to centralize data, reduce redundancies, and improve transparency.
Each new public servant can now create a personal account on the AIGLES portal to track the progress of their administrative career in real time. This feature provides greater autonomy for civil servants and reduces travel to the capital for administrative procedures. The AIGLES system is designed to manage the entire life cycle of public servants, from recruitment to retirement.
On March 13, 2026, Minister Joseph Lé made a surprise visit to the headquarters of the AIGLES project, demonstrating the importance given by the State to this digital transformation. Joseph Lé, born on March 19, 1959, is the Minister of Public Service and Administrative Reform. A journalist by training, he holds this position and oversees the implementation of this reform.
AIGLES, whose name is inspired by the eagle, a symbol of strength, vigilance and precision, aims to improve governance in the Cameroonian public administration. The system is developed by the Tunisian company SIMAC in collaboration with the Cameroonian partner Afreetech. The two-year contract amounts to approximately $7.8 million.
Minister Joseph Lé stressed that AIGLES is a unique and integrated platform that combines personnel and payroll management. Since its commissioning in January 2025, AIGLES has helped to make public administration more accessible and transparent. In January 2026, MINFOPRA reviewed the first year of operation of the system, highlighting progress in automation, efficiency and transparency.
