The 2025 Cameroonian Ballon d'Or ceremony, scheduled for February 27th at the Palais des Congrès in Yaoundé, promises to be spectacular. Jean Marie Nkoussa, Head of Communications at FECAFOOT, revealed that the winners will receive exceptional rewards.
The grand winner of the Men's Ballon d'Or will be offered a new Jetour car, thanks to the partnership with Sky Motors. In addition, land plots will be awarded to the winners of the Men's and Women's Ballon d'Or. Significant financial rewards, the exact amounts of which will be revealed by the main sponsors such as MTN and Guinness, will complete these prizes.
Beyond these material and financial rewards, Jean Marie Nkoussa also promises "beautiful surprises" and "great revelations" during the evening. The main objective of this event is to highlight Cameroonian talents, especially those who do not always have the opportunity to shine on the national stage.
FECAFOOT has unveiled the list of 11 players nominated for the 2025 Ballon d'Or. Among them are Adrien Boris Mfoumou, Bayebane Etienne Steeve Lima, Blaise Fuh Ndiforchu, Idrissou Nfor Finia, Jean François Popess Manguele Elong, Mael Fernandez Monyebe, Hamza Hamidou, Serge Daura, Tetego Ebene Rayan, Valentin Beo Batto and Nfanseu Nsinyam Konrad.
This year, FECAFOOT has emphasized parity between men's and women's football, offering the same rewards for both categories. In addition to the Ballons d'Or, other prizes will be awarded, including Best Goalkeeper, Best Coach, Revelation of the Year, Golden Shoe, Club of the Year, Fair Play Award and Goal of the Year.
The selection process for the winners is based on several key criteria: individual and collective performances, track record, fair play and behavior on and off the field. Votes are cast by the captains and coaches of the clubs maintained in MTN Elite One and Guinness Super League.
The 2024 edition saw John Bosco Nchindo and Naomi Leslie Ndjoah Eto win the Ballons d'Or. This year's ceremony is therefore shaping up to be a major event to celebrate the excellence of Cameroonian football and encourage young talents to persevere.
