The Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) has delivered its verdict regarding the incidents that occurred during the Cameroon Super Cup on February 26. The Homologation and Disciplinary Committee has heavily sanctioned Colombe Sportive du Sud following their behavior during the match against Panthère du Ndé.
Colombe du Sud left the field to protest a penalty awarded to Panthère, thus interrupting the match. The FECAFOOT commission described this attitude as "unsportsmanlike conduct". They also pointed the finger at the behavior of Richard Towa, the head coach, and Alain Mathieu Edjiane Doko, the club's president.
Consequently, FECAFOOT declared Panthère du Ndé the winner by default. Colombe du Sud is condemned to pay a fine of 30 million CFA francs and is excluded from the 2026 edition of the Cameroon Cup. Richard Towa is suspended for six months and will have to pay a fine of 5 million CFA francs. In addition, eleven Colombe players who participated in the match are suspended for two matches. Alain Mathieu Edjiane Doko, the club's chairman, is suspended for one year.
Colombe du Sud had opened the scoring with a goal from Bayebane Lima Steve, but a penalty awarded to Panthère in the 66th minute, converted by Georges Mbarga Atedzoe, had equalized. It was following this disputed penalty and the expulsion of their captain Randy Ntume that Richard Towa decided to withdraw his team from the field. The club accused the refereeing of bias in favor of Panthère du Ndé.
In a statement, Colombe's management denounced refereeing decisions they deemed surprising, mentioning penalties awarded to Panthère in similar circumstances during previous encounters. They stated that they had made the decision to leave the field "as a sign of protest and exasperation in the face of this type of refereeing". The sanctioned parties now have five days to appeal these decisions. Richard Towa's season is compromised, and the club will have to find a new coach.
