The 2025 Cameroon Super Cup, between Colombe Sportive du Dja et Lobo and Panthère Sportive du Ndé, was interrupted this Thursday, February 26, 2026 at the Military Stadium in Yaoundé. The match was marked by a strong challenge to a refereeing decision, leading the Colombe team to leave the field.
According to several sources, the incident occurred following the award of a penalty to Panthère du Ndé in the 66th minute, converted by Georges Mbarga Atedzoe, leveling the score at 1-1. Colombe players strongly protested the decision, believing it to be unfair. The situation escalated when the referee sent off Colombe captain Randy Ntube Kwalar, prompting the team to leave the pitch in the 70th minute.
"What was supposed to be a celebration of Cameroonian football (...) turned into real chaos," some observers lamented. The Cameroonian Football Federation (FECAFOOT) issued a statement indicating that it had forwarded the file to the competent legal committees for further action. FECAFOOT recalled that the technical assessment of the facts of the game was the responsibility of the referee and that any challenge should be exercised through regulatory channels.
This incident is reminiscent of the final of the AFCON 2025, where Senegal showed anger at the refereeing. However, unlike the Senegalese team, Colombe du Sud did not return to the field.
While awaiting official decisions, FECAFOOT has called for calm and serenity. The outcome of this match, the possible award of the trophy and disciplinary sanctions remain pending, in the hands of the judicial authorities. Some observers believe that Colombe risks severe sanctions for abandoning the match.
