The Ministry of Agriculture and Rural Development (Minader) signed an agreement on April 7, 2026, in Yaoundé, granting a subsidy of FCFA 400 million to the National Center for Studies and Experimentation of Agricultural Machinery (Ceneema). This funding is part of the Integrated Agro-pastoral and Fisheries Import Substitution Plan (PIISAH) for the year 2026.
The main objective of this subsidy is to strengthen agricultural mechanization and support land development through targeted actions. Ceneema is responsible for constructing three agricultural mechanization pools in Meiganga, Tibati, and Andjeck. The program also includes the construction of developed wells for the Andjeck and Meyomessala sites, as well as equipping these two sites with 11 solar projectors each. In Andjeck, photovoltaic panels will be acquired and installed.
In addition, the Minader funding will allow the acquisition of various equipment, including four all-terrain motorcycles, three agricultural seeders, a dual-frequency topographic receiver, and a topographic survey and analysis device.
The performance contract also includes the development of at least 50 hectares on the experimentation and demonstration sites ceded to Ceneema, particularly in Dir, and the continuation of the rehabilitation of the infrastructure of the agricultural mechanization pool of Yoko as part of phase 2 of the project.
The public authorities aim to consolidate the operational capacities of Ceneema, considered a key instrument for agricultural modernization. The objective is to improve access to equipment, support local production, and promote the import substitution strategy in the agro-pastoral and fisheries sectors. Founded in 1974, CENEEMA's mission is to study, test, and adapt agricultural machinery to Cameroon's agroecological conditions.
