In Saint-Denis, France, Blaise Ndjinkeu, originally from Bangoulap in the Western region of Cameroon, is a key figure in the socialist list "Réussir Ensemble" (Succeed Together), led by Mathieu Hanotin. As the outgoing municipal councilor, Ndjinkeu is seeking a new mandate in the municipal elections to be held on March 15 and 22, 2026.
For months, Blaise Ndjinkeu has been fully engaged in the campaign, crisscrossing the streets of Saint-Denis to meet voters. His role is not limited to being present on the ground. During rallies, he performs protocol duties and mobilizes activists. One of his fellow candidates describes him as a "true political machine."
As Delegate for Humanitarian Projects and local elected official in the Romain-Joliot-Curie and Cosmonautes districts, Blaise Ndjinkeu's ambition is to create links between the different communities in Saint-Denis. Cooperation with African municipalities, notably with Bangangté, is at the heart of his political action. The mayor of Bangangté, Eric Niat, celebrated his civil marriage at Saint-Denis City Hall, an event in which Blaise Ndjinkeu actively participated.
With a record he considers to be "largely positive," Blaise Ndjinkeu highlights the achievements of Mathieu Hanotin and a policy that places residents at the center of municipal decisions. The priorities of the "Réussir Ensemble" list include measures for children and young people, such as free school meals and reimbursement of transport tickets for those under 18. Improving the living environment, with street greening, public lighting and waste management, is also a priority, as is security, with the strengthening of the municipal police and video surveillance.
Blaise Ndjinkeu, who arrived in France with "his backpack," joined the Socialist Party in 1988 in Nanterre. After settling in Saint-Denis, he joined Mathieu Hanotin in the reconquest of the city. Together, they succeeded in retaking the municipality after two decades under other political leadership.
His commitment to Cameroon is reflected in particular in the organization of Cameroonian Week, an event aimed at strengthening ties between the Cameroonian diaspora in France and that of Saint-Denis, in order to promote the development of Cameroon. Blaise Ndjinkeu is considered an influential and respected voice by many Cameroonian diplomatic figures in France.
The municipal elections in Saint-Denis promise to be hotly contested. Mathieu Hanotin, supported by a left-wing coalition, will face several lists, including the one led by Bally Bagayoko, which brings together La France Insoumise and the French Communist Party. The election will take place in two rounds, on March 15 and 22, 2026.
