The Cameroonian music scene is mourning the loss of Victoire Fil'In, an iconic figure in Bikutsi music. The singer passed away on Friday night to Saturday, after suffering a sudden illness.

According to initial reports, the artist suffered a seizure while performing, with her microphone still in hand. The news of her death spread late into the night, causing a wave of sadness among her loved ones, fans, and the entire artistic community.

Born Béatrice Chantal Eloundou, Victoire Fil'In made a lasting impression when she appeared on the music scene in the 2000s. Her hit song, "Je m'endormirai dans tes bras," propelled her to the rank of an essential voice in Bikutsi music. Over the years, she enriched her repertoire with several popular titles such as "L'amour est un vice," "Mekonga," and "Minyone mi fam". In 2024, she released the title "cœur brisé," collaborated with Ben Decca on a maxi single, and signed with the Belfort Prod label.

Originally from Nyong et So'o, Victoire Fil'in was a multi-talented artist, having started as a professional dancer alongside artists such as Jacky Kingue and Tanus Foé. She then launched a solo career in Bikutsi variété, a dynamic style close to local realities that has attracted many music lovers.

A few days before her passing, on March 27, Victoire Fil'In paid a vibrant tribute to Foly Dirane on her Facebook page, the man who had revealed her to the general public thanks to his show "Délire". Ironically, she joins him today in the afterlife.

The passing of Victoire Fil'In leaves a huge void in the Cameroonian musical landscape. Her unique style and authenticity have marked an entire generation, and her legacy will live on through her music.
