Tensions and accusations are swirling in the Saudi Pro League as Cristiano Ronaldo's club, Al-Nassr, approaches the title. According to statements attributed to Karim Benzema, the French striker has criticized Cristiano Ronaldo's behavior, even suggesting suspicions of manipulation within the league.
Al-Nassr has solidified its leading position with a 2-0 victory against Al-Ahli, increasing its lead over Al-Hilal to eight points with only a few match days left. This dynamic puts the club in a favorable position to win the 2025-2026 season title.
However, this sporting success is overshadowed by controversies. Karim Benzema reportedly expressed his dissatisfaction with problematic behaviors attributed to Cristiano Ronaldo. Fabrizio Romano reported accusations of pressure and contested referee decisions, fueling a heated controversy.
"Cristiano threatened to leave the league if he wasn't allowed to win it. That's why he went on strike, and they had no choice but to accept his demands. It's very disappointing to see such behavior from a great player. He is currently rewarding every referee who makes favorable decisions for his club after each league match," Benzema allegedly stated. He also implied that the Portuguese player had financed certain actions to gain advantages.
According to Fabrizio Romano, "all the clubs and players in the Saudi league accuse Ronaldo and Al-Nassr of manipulating the competition in their favor. It is disappointing to see the league doing everything for one player. These practices risk damaging the image of the league, as the whole world begins to expose what is happening".

Despite Al-Nassr's dominance this season, these allegations could tarnish the league's image.
