The Cameroonian Football Federation (Fecafoot) has ruled on the dispute between Bamboutos FC and Avion Academy, awarding the victory to Avion Academy following Bamboutos FC's forfeit in their Elite One first-round match. The match, initially scheduled for January 31, 2026, at the Bepanda Annex Stadium, could not proceed normally due to an insufficient number of Bamboutos FC players.
Bamboutos FC presented only eight players, below the minimum required for an official match. This shortage was due to Fecafoot's refusal to grant federal licenses to the Mbouda club's players, rendering them ineligible for the encounter.
The Fecafoot's Homologation and Disciplinary Committee, seized with the matter, ruled in favor of Avion Academy, considering Bamboutos FC responsible for the match's impossibility to be held. The commission noted that Avion Academy was ready to play.
Consequently, Bamboutos FC is declared the loser by forfeit, resulting in a loss of three points in the overall standings and a fine of 500,000 FCFA to be paid to Fecafoot. The match score is recorded as a 3-0 victory for Avion Academy.
Avion Academy is therefore awarded the victory, pocketing three points and a goal difference of 3-0. This decision directly impacts the standings of the first day of Elite One. The incident highlights the administrative challenges faced by some clubs and their consequences on the championship's progress.
