English club Arsenal is reportedly very interested in young Cameroonian international footballer Christian Kofane, according to Sky Sports reports on April 3. The Gunners' interest is confirmed by Eric Depollo, the player's agent.
"Yes, Arsenal's interest is serious. The coach (Mikel Arteta) likes him a lot. But their current priority is to win the league; we'll see after that," Depollo said.
Kofane, 19, currently plays for Bayer Leverkusen in the Bundesliga. He joined the German club in the summer of 2025 from Albacete, a Spanish second division club, for a fee of 5 million euros. Since arriving in Leverkusen, Kofane has made 39 appearances, scoring 7 goals and providing 8 assists. His performances have attracted the attention of several major European clubs, including Chelsea, Barcelona and Bayern Munich.
Kofane's agent believes his client is worth 100 million euros. Sky Sports, for its part, values the player between 60 and 70 million euros. Depollo justifies this high price by highlighting Kofane's exceptional qualities: "He is a fast, technically gifted player, very good in defense and excellent in the air".
Depollo also pointed out that Arsenal may have an advantage in the race to sign Kofane, given that the player speaks Spanish like Mikel Arteta and that William Saliba is from Cameroon.
Kofane made his debut for the Cameroon national team in December 2025 and has six caps, scoring two goals. His profile, according to Transfermarkt, indicates a market value of 40 million euros.
Bayer Leverkusen have reportedly set a selling price of between 60 and 70 million euros for Kofane. The German club had recruited him for 5 million euros from Albacete.
