La Palmeraie, located in the 15th arrondissement, was transformed into a showcase for contemporary African creativity, marking the 26th edition of this event. The atmosphere was electric, a mix of sophistication, shimmering fabrics, and conversations blending African and European accents, heralding a profound cultural celebration.
A highlight of the evening was the tribute to Dénise Epoté, an iconic figure in African journalism. Her forty-year commitment to amplifying Africa's voice on the international media stage was hailed with emotion. Her work in Cameroon and her decisive role within TV5 Monde Afrique embody a generation of pioneers who have helped shape the African narrative with rigor and dignity. After more than four decades of career, Epoté left her position as Director of Distribution, Marketing and Commercialization at TV5 Monde on January 30, 2026.
Grégoire Piwele, a major player in the promotion of African fashion for over 25 years, emphasized the growing importance of this industry. According to him, African fashion has become a tool for cultural influence, a diplomatic language, and an economic engine capable of redefining global creative balances. Annual Show Magazine has been highlighting African beauty and cultural diversity for 24 years.
The highlight of the show was a series of fashion shows where tradition and modernity met with audacity. Designers from Cameroon, Gabon, Ghana, and other African countries presented collections where textiles told stories of territories, memories, and visions of the future. Vibrant colors, architectural cuts, and noble materials affirmed a plural, inventive, and resolutely contemporary Africa. Young artist Oshiga and Sandrine Nnanga added a musical dimension to this sensory immersion, embodying a new generation of African artists. The event was broadcast on Canal 2 International, underscoring its international media ambition, with Pascal Pierre and Kelly White hosting the evening.
