The Cameroonian Association of Football Coaches and Educators (ACEEF) has voiced its concern over the recent wave of coach dismissals in the MTN Elite One championship. Six clubs have already changed coaches since the season began, with most of these decisions occurring in March. The clubs involved include Aigle du Moungo, Dynamo de Douala, Aigle de la Menoua, Fauve Azur, and Panthère du Ndé, while Stade Renard had started the trend earlier.
In response to this situation, ACEEF President Michel Kaham issued a statement denouncing what he sees as an injustice towards his colleagues. He refutes the argument of incompetence, pointing out that all Elite One coaches hold either the CAF A license or the UEFA Pro license, attesting to their training and skills. Kaham also mentioned on Radio Equinoxe that these coaches are qualified professionals.
Michel Kaham is calling on club managers to be patient and not to panic when immediate results are not satisfactory. He encourages them to give coaches time and consider other factors that can influence a team's performance, such as player health, nutrition, and the overall club environment.
ACEEF assures coaches of its support and invites them to seek assistance from the association when signing contracts and in the event of disputes. Kaham also offers ACEEF's mediation services to help resolve problems encountered by coaches. He encourages them to contact the association if needed.
Furthermore, Michel Kaham praised the work done by the coaches, stating that they have helped raise the level of play of their clubs. ACEEF hopes that clubs will recognize the value of their coaches and adopt a more patient and constructive approach in the future.
