Cameroon's U17 Lionesses have begun their qualifying campaign for the 2026 U17 Women's World Cup with a match against Algeria. This first-leg match of the African qualifying round was played on Sunday, April 12, 2026.
The draw for the qualifiers took place in Rabat, Morocco, officially kicking off the African campaign. A total of 31 African teams are competing in these qualifiers, which are played in three knockout rounds, with two-legged ties. At the end of the third round, four teams will qualify for the U17 Women's World Cup finals in Morocco.
For the Indomitable Lionesses, this encounter with Algeria represents a true test of preparation, discipline, and mental strength. Traditionally known for their athleticism and intensity, Cameroon's U17 team will also need to demonstrate tactical maturity and composure in both matches.
